Abby

$17.99

Often referred to as the “Blaxploitation Exorcist,” Abby (1974) is a rare and notorious cult classic of 1970s horror. When Abby Williams (Carol Speed) becomes possessed by a powerful Yoruba spirit after her father-in-law (William Marshall, Blacula) unwittingly unleashes it, her life descends into chaos. What follows is a shocking and unforgettable battle between good and evil, blending supernatural chills with the bold style of 1970s Black cinema.

Directed by William Girdler (Sheba, Baby), Abby gained cult status after being pulled from theaters due to legal action over its similarities to The Exorcist. This makes surviving releases highly sought after by horror fans and collectors.

Scary as @#?!!!

The first and only time I seen this movie was at the tender age of 3. I must say that I was scared as @#*? when my mom, aunt, and I left that theatre. Many years has past since that movie debuted and I still remember the name "ABBY". When you think of Abby, zombie like features, wild hair, disgusting vomit, and a demon possessed woman running toward the movie screen, comes to mind every time. But overall, after 30 years, I think it would be a good movie to watch on halloween.

Very bad VHS quality not DVD

The quality of this video is for the lack of a better word, “horrible” It’s worse than VHS quality. I have powerful film correction software that can’t even begin to fix this damaged copy. It looks like a burn from an old VHS tape.It also needs color correction as well as stabalazation fine tunning. You can see the lines at the bottom of the picture. Very disappointed in this copy of an old VHS tape.

Worse DVD copy

Good movie, unfortunately this DVD was copied from VHS instead of original Master therefore the quality and color is terrible. The price this is selling for is ridiculous and so not worth it. I paid $9.00 for my cheap copy, and I've purchased DVD for $4.99 that look better than this. This classic definitely needs a professional remastering from the original reels.
