Synopsis:

Broken Oath is a 1977 martial arts revenge film starring Angela Mao, one of the most iconic female action stars of the era. The film is a blend of kung fu action and classic wuxia storytelling, often compared to Lady Snowblood due to its similar themes of vengeance.

The story follows Lotus (Angela Mao), who was born in prison after her mother was framed and killed by a group of corrupt officials. Raised in a monastery, she learns that her mother’s killers are still alive and holding power. Instead of taking the path of peace, she trains in deadly martial arts and sets out on a mission of revenge, tracking down each of the men responsible for her mother's death.

With brutal fight scenes, acrobatics, and Angela Mao’s intense screen presence, Broken Oath is a standout in the kung fu revenge genre.
