Detroit Metal City (DMC) Live Action Special Limited Edition is a collector's version of the 2008 Japanese live-action adaptation of the hit manga and anime Detroit Metal City by Kiminori Wakasugi. The film stars Kenichi Matsuyama as Soichi Negishi, a mild-mannered aspiring pop musician who ironically becomes the frontman for the shock-metal band Detroit Metal City, adopting the alter ego "Johannes Krauser II." Synopsis: Soichi Negishi dreams of making gentle, Swedish-style pop music, but circumstances force him into the world of extreme death metal as the lead vocalist of Detroit Metal City (DMC)—a controversial and wildly popular underground band known for its outrageous lyrics and on-stage antics. Despite his hatred for the band's violent persona, his transformation into Krauser II is so convincing that fans believe he is a demonic god of metal. His double life becomes more chaotic when he tries to win over his college crush, Aikawa, who despises everything DMC stands for. Things escalate when DMC is challenged by the legendary American metal god, Jack Ill Dark (played by Gene Simmons of KISS), leading to an epic musical showdown.
