Synopsis:

The film centers around James Lake (Raymond St. Jacques), a black man who has recently been released from prison after being wrongfully convicted. Determined to start anew, he moves to Los Angeles, where he hopes to leave his past behind and build a better future. However, he quickly discovers that escaping his past and the systemic racism that landed him in prison is not so easy.

James finds work at a car dealership and begins a relationship with a white woman named Leslie (Dana Wynter). Despite their love for each other, their interracial relationship faces intense scrutiny and prejudice from society. Leslie's ex-husband, a racist and powerful man named Leslie Whitlock (Kevin McCarthy), becomes increasingly hostile and determined to ruin James's life.

As tensions rise, James is framed for a crime he did not commit, and he becomes the target of a manhunt led by the vengeful Whitlock. Desperate to clear his name and protect Leslie, James is forced to go on the run. The film follows his struggle for justice and survival as he battles against a corrupt and racist system.

Throughout the film, James confronts various challenges and dangers, highlighting the pervasive and insidious nature of racism in America. The story is a gripping and emotional journey that delves into themes of racial injustice, love, and the fight for dignity and respect.
