The Son of Kong (VHS)

Released in 1933 as a direct sequel to the iconic King Kong, The Son of Kong picks up shortly after the original film's dramatic conclusion. Carl Denham, now disgraced and facing numerous lawsuits over the destruction caused by Kong in New York, flees the city with his friend Captain Englehorn. Their travels take them back to the mysterious Skull Island, where they discover a smaller, friendlier albino ape—Kong’s son, affectionately referred to as "Little Kong."

Unlike his fearsome father, Little Kong is gentle and playful, and he forms a bond with Denham and his companions. However, the island is still full of dangers, including dinosaurs and treacherous terrain. As a new threat looms over the island, the young ape makes a heroic sacrifice, proving himself a true son of Kong.

With a mix of adventure, light-hearted moments, and stop-motion effects by Willis O'Brien, The Son of Kong offers a more sentimental follow-up to the original monster classic.
