One of the funniest sitcoms ever made. These actors are great and talented performers! I loved this show when I was a kid and still do today (many years later). The DVDs are of good quality. I've experienced a few "freezeups", but they played through in a couple of seconds. The price of this package is incredibly low! If I want a digitally remastered issue I can buy it later, but don't think I'll ever need it.
Knowing full well that the original elements are not available, I bought this set as a replacement for really crummy older DVD set. The quality, unfortunately, isn't much better. It seems like the same elements that go back to the VHS days were used here. However, at less than 30 bucks, it's worth having.
Excellent set. A lot of work went into making this collection and the gift recipient was extremely happy Christmas Day. Thank you for taking the time to put the entire tv show and radio collection together. The DVDs played just fine and appreciate the amount of work that went into the DVD cover art and home menu screens. Would def buy again.
I was really hesitant at first to purchase a DVD collection of such an old show. I really had my misgivings about how good the quality would be on a sixty year-old black-and-white television broadcast but after reading the previous reviews just decided to go ahead and give this a try. Not only was I not disappointed but I was actually pleasantly surprised! The video quality is about the same as you get if watching a classic television show on say, the MeTV network and the audio quality is clear as a bell. I have seen other versions of this show that are offered in "remastered" or "fully-restored" versions for at least double the price and that to me seems like a come-on line. There is really only so much restoration that can be done to these shows given the almost ancient ways that they were recorded and originally broadcast. This version should be just fine for anyone who wishes to take a pleasant trip down memory lane. The inclusion of the MP3 radio broadcasts is worth the price just by itself. Radio serialization is a lost and forgotten art form that really needs to be remembered, experienced, and even re-introduced! The only one drawback to this item, and it is very slight, is that the discs do not always like to stay in the giant cardboard sleeve that the entire set comes packaged in so you have to be a little wary that one does not fall out and become accidentally scratched. Simple wrap-up: This is a quality product for a more than reasonable price and I would not hesitate to buy any other package sets that this distributor has to offer.
Great memories of that show! The DVD quality is good.
