Dances With Wolves (1990) is an epic Western film directed by and starring Kevin Costner, based on the novel by Michael Blake. The story follows Union Army Lieutenant John J. Dunbar, who, after a courageous act during the Civil War, is assigned to a remote outpost on the American frontier. There, he encounters the Lakota Sioux and gradually becomes integrated into their community, earning the name "Dances With Wolves." As Dunbar embraces the Lakota way of life, he forms deep bonds, including a romantic relationship with Stands With A Fist, a white woman raised by the tribe. However, tensions escalate when the U.S. Army threatens the tribe's existence, forcing Dunbar to make critical decisions about his loyalties.
