After surviving a devastating car accident that kills his girlfriend, Hiroshi awakens with virtually no memory of his former life. While recovering, he discovers his old medical textbooks and feels inexplicably compelled to return to medical school.
During an anatomy course, Hiroshi becomes intensely fascinated with the female cadaver assigned to his group. As the dissection progresses, fragments of his lost memories begin returning—and he gradually realizes that the body before him has a deeply personal connection to his past.
From visionary Japanese filmmaker Shinya Tsukamoto, Vital is a haunting psychological drama exploring memory, grief, identity, love and the relationship between the human body and the mind.
